The Humble Indie Bundle
Some of you may remember the 2D-Boy World of Goo pay-what-you-want offer a back in 2009. Essentially this allowed you to purchase the game for any amount you felt adequate. I remember being appalled at reading that many people were paying just a cent or two, and that 2D-Boy was actually losing money as the transaction fees were higher than that. They released a very interesting follow-up on which people were the most generous. Unfortunately, I missed out on the offer because (as usual) I simply had forgotten about it.
But now, an even more amazing offer is back called the Humble Indie Bundle. It includes "World of Goo" and 4 other games that all run on Linux, Mac and Windows and are all DRM free. You can pay what you want, and I can highly recommend it. I dished $20 for it, which may be above the current average, but I still consider a complete steal. Furthermore you can decide if the money should go to the developers, should be donated, or split between both. Check out the video after the break. As for me, I've got some Goo towers to build!

I wasn't that generous... only 10 from me (but all to devs, no charity :P)... mostly because I am not sure, if the other games besides World of Goo do really rock. I think there is also no multi-player, in none of the the games, or is it? Besides that, I think the hole idea and cross-platform, DRM free stuff is really amazing!
You know that's the great thing about something like this: I believe neither you or I would have gotten these games for their normal prices. I, because I do not play enough. You, because of the reasons you stated. So that's why its nice that you can put a price-tag on it yourself. (Speaking of which: I gave everything to the devs as well. We gotta stick together!)
To the games: They are all amazing, apart maybe from that bunny-rabbit one. But you definitely must give Penumbra a shot. Make sure you play in a dark room with head-phones or good speakers. It scared the shit out of me. And if you like it, here's a tip: Buyers of the Indie Bundle can get the second and third parts for a measly $5 (or roughly 4 EU). Check out their website for details: http://www.penumbragame.com/. I can definitely recommend it!
And it gets better: Samorost 2 was just added to the bundle! All of you who have bought the bundle already, will get an e-mail with a link to download it! Yay!
Maybe on my trip to Paris next week I'll find the time to actually try them :)
