Happy April Fool's Day!

By marv - Posted on 01 April 2010

I was thinking about putting up some shocking headline to fool you all, but then figured since we don't blog enough that headline would be stuck on front page well after April had passed. So instead of me doing the fooling, here are some of my favorite April Fool's Day jokes around the net!

All this, and much more, after the break!

As every year, one of the first places I go to when I wake up on that early April morning is ThinkGeek. They go through great lengths to deliver fake products every year. Some of them are so popular, that they are then turned into real products, such as the 8-bit tie, or the USB pet rock. This year they feature some great items like the iCade, Dharma-Alarm Clock, or my personal favorite, the Screaming Knife. Be sure to check them out.

And it seems technology is the most popular domain of April Fools (or maybe it's just because I am such a geek), and there are many other great un-truths being passed around this year. MacWorld talks about Apple discontinuing their line of Macs in favor of iPhones and iPads. Nokia controls helicopters with their phone. And of course, Google brings their traditional line-up of April Fools, this time including an animal translator,a new japanese keyboard (in Japanese, but the pictures should be telling), and oh yeah, their new name Topeka.

The best tech joke though that I have come across though today is by Tagesschau. Be sure to check out their site (if you speak German) to see what bad news the ICANN brings. Be sure to check out the interview with the computer expert as well!
