Are we ready for Joomla?
In general we really like the current layout and blog system of our web page, but concerning static content, we encountered some limitations of the content management system "Wordpress" we use.
This is why we are thinking of switching our web pages to a more powerful system called Joomla.
We already made a test installation and found it quite mature. Installing was flawless and the back end good-looking. At least I liked the Windows XP icon style.
With a switch we would also be very trendy, as you can easily see by comparing the two content management systems at Google Trends. To save you the search time, I provide a link here.

Well "trendy" is what defines us :-D! I'd also like to add some ideas to the switch. Currently, both WordPress and Joomla are very popular, but both for different reasons. Joomla focuses on being a fantastic content-management-system, while WordPress should provide the best blogging experience. Although both reach out into the other player's field, they are no replacements for the other.
To get the best of both world's one of the Joomla developers has developed a plugin to incorporate WordPress into Joomla. This is an option we will be looking into. It is not quite as simple to get our old blogs and comments into the new system, but heck, we're up to the challenge!
