Adobe Flash Player 4 Linux

Flash logoGood news for all Linux (or future Linux users) out there. Today the newest Flash Player from Adobe was released for the OS system. Well a beta have been existing for a while. But now it's official. Thx Adobe!

Just installed it on my system by freaking with the "uncomfortable command line" :-)

sudo aptitude install flashplugin-nonfree did it for me. Now I am waiting for other companies to follow this example. In my dreams I see Microsoft porting their DirectX 10 to Linux... ;-)

Yes, very nice to know! Although there are undertakings to have an open-source flash player for Linux (such as Gnash), I wonder how much they will have to be crippled to conform to the Adobe Flash Player license (one requirement, for instance, is that the player must not allow exporting the flash content to another format).
Since it seems the open-source community is far from creating anything similar to Flash, I agree that it's probably best we let Adobe take care of us :).
